Donderos’ Kitchen: “Tapas with Tim” – Thursday, December 12th

Indian and Pakistani

Our December fixed-menu, fixed-price tapas evening will be on the SECOND Thursday, rather than the usual first Thursday of the month, because the Downtown Parade of Lights is scheduled for that first Thursday.

Tapas this month will feature six special dishes from India and Pakistan. As the weather becomes chilly, the (mildly) spiced cuisine from the Subcontinent will warm us back up! For the food tasting, you bring the wine – or beer -- of your choice. Tim will introduce and discuss the dishes as they are served.

Menu:  Marinated chickpeas and puffed rice Chaat (snack); Chopped beef Shami Kebabs with Karachi tomato chutney; Spicy potato cutlets with cilantro-mint chutney; Butter chicken curry with garlic naan bread; Vegetable and cashew Biryani rice with raita (yogurt-cucumber sauce); Carrot Halva.

Tim’s preference for a wine pairing with this group of dishes would be a Chenin Blanc, a fairly dry Rosé, or a Sauvignon Blanc. Alternatively, bring beer, which would be far more common than wine in India.

Or -- for a great wine pairing at a moderate price, visit Pairings (formerly, Uncommon Gourmet) at 1087 Baxter St; telephone 706 353-3107. Tim teaches cooking classes at Pairings, and Anne Wells selects wines to go with Tim’s style of cooking.

Thursday, December 12th, 2019. Donderos’ Kitchen, 590 No. Milledge Avenue. First course served at 6:30 PM.

Price $30 per person. Corkage fee is $2 per couple.

Seating is limited. To assure a place, please register in advance.
